JUSTICE KURIAN JOSEPH, J.

(1.) The petitioner has prayed for following relief in the writ petition:-

(i) That the applicants may be held entitled the pay scale of ' 450- 700 w.e.f. the date of their initial appointments in view of Annexure A-5, A-6 and A-8 respectively.

(ii) That the respondent University may be directed to give the benefit of revised pay scale of ' 1200-2100 to the applicants w.e.f. 1.1.1986, in accordance with Annexure A-9 dated 15.11.1989 issued by the respondent University.

(2.) According to the petitioners, the Laboratory Attendants carried a scale of pay of ' 450-700, whereas they have been put only on a scale of pay '400-600. The learned counsel appearing for the University submits that the very same issue has been decided by this court leading to Annexure R-4 judgement in CWP No. 255 of 1986. According to the petitioners, the said judgement may not apply in their case since their appointments are prior to 1986 and that judgement covered only the appointees after 1986. Be that as it may. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners prays for an opportunity to make an appropriate representation before the respondent- University attempting to distinguish the judgement on facts with prayer for indulgence of the University. In that view of the matter, this petition is disposed of as follows:
