(1) For D.Ed. Course: In respect of admission to D.Ed. College:-
(i) No person shall be eligible for admission under these rules, unless he/she is a citizen of India, and he/she has passed the Second Year Pre-University Course as on the last date for submission of application with at least fifty per cent marks or the minimum percentage of marks prescribed by the NCTE, whichever is higher and shall have studied any two of the languages among Kannada, English, Hindi, Telugu, Arabic, Tamil, Malayalam, Urdu, Marathi and Sanskrit either in SSLC or in PUC or 12th Standard:
Provided that in the case of the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Category-I' of the other Backward Classes and the physically handicapped persons, those who have obtained at least forty-five per cent of marks shall be eligible.
(ii) Candidates shall have studied in II PUC /qualifying examination any two of the elective subjects among the following.
Arts: History, Civics, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Optional Kannada, Education-1 and Education-2.
Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics and Statistics:
Provided that a candidate who has studied the commerce stream shall have studied in PUC any two of the elective subjects among, History, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Kannada, Education-1 and Education-2, Statistics:
Provided also further that no person who has passed Pre-University Vocational Education Course/Diploma or any other Job Oriented Course shall be eligible for admission to D.Ed. Course:
Provided also that a candidate shall be eligible for admission to a course in particular language medium only if he/she has studied in that medium in S.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination or has studied that language as first language or second language in S.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination.
(2) Eligibility For D.P.Ed. Course: In respect of D.P.Ed. Courses:-
No person shall be eligible for admission under these rules, unless he/she is a citizen of India, and has passed Second year Pre-University (+2) Course or 12th Standard Examination with at least 45% marks in or its equivalent, are eligible for admission and has studied any two of the languages among English, Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Arabic, Tamil, Malayalam, Urdu, Marathi and Sanskrit either in S.S.L.C. or in P.U.C. or 12th Standard:
Provided that in the case of the candidates who have participated in State or National level sports events, the minimum percentage of marks should be at least 40 per cent:
Provided that a candidate must not have attained 30 years of age as determined on 30th June of the year of admission to 1st year D.P.Ed. Course:
(i) In case of the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Categories of Ex-Servicemen and Defence personnel themselves, the upper age limit shall be 35 years of age as on 30th June of the year of admission to 1st year D.P.Ed. Course:
(ii) Provided that no person who has passed Pre-University Vocational Educational Course/Diploma or any other Job-Oriented course shall be eligible for admission to D.P.Ed. Course;
(iii) Must produce medical fitness certificate from Government Medical Officer.
